Jewish Publication Society Torah Commentary

This long-awaited commentary on the fifth and final book of the Torah marks the brilliant completion to the highly acclaimed series. The JPS Torah Commentary is known as one of the most authoritative and respected commentaries on the Bible and is widely used in Jewish and Christian seminaries.

Following the completion of the acclaimed five-volume Torah Commentary series, The Jewish Publication Society has embarked on the next phase of its biblical commentary project: individual volumes on the Five Megilloth and Jonah. The first in the series is Uriel Simon's Commentary on Jonah. Based on the same format and design as the Torah volumes, Simon's work provides a critical line-by-line commentary of the biblical text, which is presented in its original Hebrew, complete with vocalization and cantillation marks, as well as the 1985 JPS English translation. Dr. Simon also provides a scholarly introduction, extensive bibliographic and critical notes, and other explanatory material.
